If you're visiting Richmond in an electric vehicle, here are two bits of good news. First, you're visiting Richmond - you'll enjoy your stay! Second, as an EV driver, your fuel is not currently stuck in the Strait of Hormuz.

But there's also some not-quite-so-good news: there are no high-speed chargers in Richmond. Never fear, there are plenty of charging options close at hand. Here's a list of the public chargers we know of. All of them work with a simple tap of a credit/debit card.

High speed (50 kW or higher)

  • Catterick Garrison Tesco, 1 vehicle
  • Catterick Garrison McDonald’s, 1 vehicle
  • Scotch Corner, East side, 16 vehicles
  • Scotch Corner, West side (Tesla), 12 vehicles
  • Colburn: Jet Garage, 6 vehicles

Medium speed (7-22 kW)

  • Nun’s Close Long Stay Car Park, Richmond, 4 vehicles [UPDATE 14 MAY; the provider is reported to have stopped trading]
  • Catterick Garrison Tesco, 1 vehicle
