Wish you were here... in Swaledale

Free postcards available when you join the Picture Perfect campaign

At the Richmond Information Centre we're taking part in a regional postcard promotion.

Many places across North Yorkshire are being invited to take part in a free summer campaign designed to revive the tradition of postcard writing and encourage visitors to switch off from screens.

The “Picture Perfect” campaign has been created by Susan Briggs and Amanda Brown, who work with businesses in the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors. They hope the initiative will tap into growing demand from visitors to take a break from digital life, encouraging them to slow down and engage with more traditional, personal forms of communication.

Susan Briggs said 'handwritten cards offer a level of meaning that digital messages cannot replicate. The region is ideally placed to promote a more mindful, screen-free visitor experience'.

In Richmond Information Centre, we've got a stock of beautiful A5 sized cards with scenes of Swaledale and we're offering them to all comers for free - YES, FREE! All you need to do is buy a stamp from us at the Information Centre at the Market Hall. Choose a card and we'll stick a stamp on it.
