Artisan market returns this weekend

Richmond’s picturesque market square will be brimming with creativity and community spirit on Sunday 13 July, as the Little Bird Artisan Market returns to the town from 10am.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Yorkshire Dales, the market will feature a specially curated selection of independent Yorkshire producers and makers. Shoppers can expect a wide range of handcrafted goods, including artwork, jewellery, skincare, homeware and locally sourced food and drink.

The event is part of a summer series of artisan markets organised by Little Bird Made, which brings together some of the region’s finest small businesses. Founder Jackie Crozier said: “Richmond’s quaint Yorkshire setting provides a perfect backdrop for our artisan market, allowing visitors to connect directly with talented makers. It’s a fantastic opportunity to support local businesses while enjoying the atmosphere of this charming town.”

Local artist Debbie Handslip (pictured), who is exhibiting at the market, added: “This is my first year selling my art, and Richmond has given me a real boost. It’s more than just sales—it’s about connecting with visitors and sharing a love for all things Yorkshire.”

Visitors are also encouraged to make a day of it by exploring Richmond’s cobbled streets, historic buildings, and the dramatic views from Richmond Castle.
