Bonfire Night

There'll be bonfires and firework displays in and around Richmond on the Fifth of November.

Richmond Town Council is presenting the town's annual fireworks display from 6 pm, at Richmond School. The display starts at 7, and is free, with a bucket collection. (We assume there'll be a bonfire.) The organisers ask that no-one brings sparklers or pets - which seems very sensible.

Ten miles away, on Reeth Green - a fabulous location, surrounded by the darkness of the Swaledale fells - the annual Reeth Bonfire and Fireworks display kicks off at 6:30. Again, it's free, with a bucket collection. A barbecue will be available throughout the evening.

In Leyburn, there'll be a bonfire night event on The Shawl, from 6:30 pm.

Organisers of these events seem rather coy with their publicity. Perhaps your best bet is just to follow the flashes and bangs on the night!
