The exhibition is a selection of recent work which looks at the landscapes of the Pennines, Lake District and coastlines of Durham and North YorkshireMichael is an oil painter from Co Durham and most of his work is inspired by the landscapes close to home, the North Pennines, Yorkshire Dales and Moors, Cumbria and the Coast. These are places he has walked in and grown up around so painting them feels natural to him. The sudden changing light and atmosphere and weather can make these places seem completely different from one day to the next. Painting every piece of detail is not important to him, his work is more about capturing the atmosphere - the mood, the memory and feeling of being there.

Friday 27th February 2026 for 12 Days
