There's never a dull moment in Richmond...

There’s always something to do and somewhere to go in Richmond. With the unique Georgian Theatre Royal plus the award-winning independent cinema at The Station, drama and cinema are well taken care of, and then there’s the sparkling events programme at the Green Howards Museum, as well as Richmond Castle and the Richmondshire Museum.

And coming up is Richmond MayFest - the town's annual celebration of spring with loads of music, dance and family fun going on all over the town. This year it is all happening on May 2nd-May 4th, with the May Fair at Richmond Castle, concerts, ceilidh, Folk Fest, Baroque Fest, Day of Dance and much much more. An exhibition of artworks by SCAFFOLD artists responding to Eileen Scott’s The Corner of the Garden, showcasing diverse contemporary interpretations alongside prints of the original painting.

This exhibition will showcase a curated collection of thirty artworks created individually by the artists of SCAFFOLD, an established collective of emerging contemporary artists. Each artist will respond creatively to The Corner of the Garden, a painting by Eileen Scott from SCAF’s permanent collection. This seminal work will serve as a visual brief, inspiring diverse artistic interpretations across multiple disciplines. The mission of the exhibition is a call and response, spanning decades.

The exhibited works will include paintings, drawings, prints, and photographs, each no larger than 50cm x 50cm. All artworks will be for sale, and as a group exhibition, the diverse range of pieces will offer visitors at The Station a variety of choices to engage with.
