What's On

There's never a dull moment in Richmond...

There’s always something to do and somewhere to go in Richmond. With the unique Georgian Theatre Royal plus the award-winning independent cinema at The Station, drama and cinema are well taken care of, and then there’s the sparkling events programme at the Green Howards Museum, as well as Richmond Castle and the Richmondshire Museum.

The town’s many choirs and two orchestras offer up regular concerts, alongside the Richmondshire Concert Series in Spring and Autumn bringing in world-class chamber ensembles, while there’s plenty of live music at The Comrades Club and at many of the town’s great pubs. Richmond’s festivals are amazingly diverse, from the lively performance scene at MayFest to the delights of both “books and boots” at September’s Walking and Book Festival - never mind the epic Duck Race on the Swale.

Craft markets, health and wellbeing events, every kind of community group you can think of, talks, walks… you’ll always find something to enjoy.

A Swaledale Festival event

Following their stunning performance of Enoch Arden at the Georgian Theatre Royal last year, we welcome back pianist Gamal Khamis and actor Christopher Kent with an exciting new dramatisation.

An Exquisite Harmony tells the moving story of one of music’s great love triangles through the letters, diaries and music of Robert and Clara Schumann and the young Johannes Brahms. In this special performance Christopher Kent and Gamal Khamis are joined by actress Fenella Norman.

Please note that tickets for this event are only available from the Georgian Theatre Royal box office, and not from Swaledale Festival.
