Philippa Mo, described as “an international sensation” (Weekender), and Albert Lau, a Steinway Artist, have both given memorable solo recitals at The Georgian Theatre Royal. They now join forces for the first time in a virtuoso and highly charged programme which includes:

Edward Elgar - Violin Sonata in E minor, Op.82

Ottorino Respighi - Violin Sonata in B minor

And some delightful salon pieces of the same era.

These sonatas are some of the very finest late Romantic chamber works. Composed during the momentous years of 1917 and 1918, they are the responses of an Englishman staying in a cottage in Sussex and an Italian in a religious retreat in Rome, to a world changed by the ravages of war.  However, alongside the undeniable frustration and desperation, both works also reflect great hope, love, and tenderness.

This promises to be an evening of moving music performed by two international musicians in the intimate atmosphere of the Georgian with its wonderful acoustic".

Tickets cost £21 and are available from Box Office on 01748 825252 or online at: www.georgiantheatreroyal.co.uk
