What's On

There's never a dull moment in Richmond...

There’s always something to do and somewhere to go in Richmond. With the unique Georgian Theatre Royal plus the award-winning independent cinema at The Station, drama and cinema are well taken care of, and then there’s the sparkling events programme at the Green Howards Museum, as well as Richmond Castle and the Richmondshire Museum.

The town’s many choirs and two orchestras offer up regular concerts, alongside the Richmondshire Concert Series in Spring and Autumn bringing in world-class chamber ensembles, while there’s plenty of live music at The Comrades Club and at many of the town’s great pubs. Richmond’s festivals are amazingly diverse, from the lively performance scene at MayFest to the delights of both “books and boots” at September’s Walking and Book Festival - never mind the epic Duck Race on the Swale.

Craft markets, health and wellbeing events, every kind of community group you can think of, talks, walks… you’ll always find something to enjoy.

The wild and wonderful world of weather.

Through the chronicles of history, people have gazed up and marvelled at the mysteries of the weather. Generations have tried to master the elements and understand the magic of the skies.

Hayley’s sunny, beloved dad was the nation’s favourite weatherman. He could make a typhoon sound like a tickle. Hayley is now following in his footsteps, to join the ranks of the forecasting fraternity, or at least, local shoestring teatime telly.

When the pressure drops and dark clouds gather, Hayley is melting faster than a lonely snowflake. She’s seen the future’s forecast, but will anyone listen?

Bring your anorak and your factor 50. Well, you never know!
