What's On

There's never a dull moment in Richmond...

There’s always something to do and somewhere to go in Richmond. With the unique Georgian Theatre Royal plus the award-winning independent cinema at The Station, drama and cinema are well taken care of, and then there’s the sparkling events programme at the Green Howards Museum, as well as Richmond Castle and the Richmondshire Museum.

The town’s many choirs and two orchestras offer up regular concerts, alongside the Richmondshire Concert Series in Spring and Autumn bringing in world-class chamber ensembles, while there’s plenty of live music at The Comrades Club and at many of the town’s great pubs. Richmond’s festivals are amazingly diverse, from the lively performance scene at MayFest to the delights of both “books and boots” at September’s Walking and Book Festival - never mind the epic Duck Race on the Swale.

Craft markets, health and wellbeing events, every kind of community group you can think of, talks, walks… you’ll always find something to enjoy.

This special exhibition explores the links between creativity and conflict in times of war.

The exhibition draws on The Green Howards Museum's extensive collection of creative work, bringing a whole range of sketches, watercolours, diagrams, cartoons and paintings together with selected poetry and prose. Created in Conflict also includes work by one of the most famous war artists of the early twentieth century, Christopher Nevinson.

The museum is open Monday to Saturday 10am to 4.30pm.
