What's On

There's never a dull moment in Richmond...

There’s always something to do and somewhere to go in Richmond. With the unique Georgian Theatre Royal plus the award-winning independent cinema at The Station, drama and cinema are well taken care of, and then there’s the sparkling events programme at the Green Howards Museum, as well as Richmond Castle and the Richmondshire Museum.

Coming up this month it's Green Howards weekend on 9-10 May with the parade of veterans on Sunday, and then 23rd-25th May enjoy the spectacle of Richmond Meet and the Whit Fair in the Market Place. Everyone is welcome to join in the parade on Monday 25th May, with a vehicle float or walking float - or just line the streets to watch the parade go by from Nuns Close to the Market Place.

The end of May also brings the varied magnificence of the Swaledale Festival, with many events taking place in Richmond and across the Dales.

Mikron Theatre Company invites you to enter a world of secrets, songs and cyphers as we get to know the heroes of Hut 3.

In a non-descript mansion house, in a non-descript town, a group of extra-ordinary men and women worked to provide intelligence that would help to win the war. But shhhhhh, you’d better keep it under your hat, because as far as the rest of the world is concerned, Bletchley Park doesn’t exist.

Peggy Valentine arrives at Bletchley in 1940, 18 years old, headstrong and gifted. Finding herself in a world of boffins, soldiers and debutantes, Peggy has to shoulder the burden of high pressure war work whilst navigating a new world of feuds, friendships and growing up in a frame of absolute secrecy.

But what of the world beyond Bletchley? As the war rages on in Europe, the stakes are raised for Peggy and her friends as they work to protect their loved ones fighting abroad.
