What's On

There's never a dull moment in Richmond...

There’s always something to do and somewhere to go in Richmond. With the unique Georgian Theatre Royal plus the award-winning independent cinema at The Station, drama and cinema are well taken care of, and then there’s the sparkling events programme at the Green Howards Museum, as well as Richmond Castle and the Richmondshire Museum.

On 23rd-25th May enjoy the spectacle of Richmond Meet and the Whit Fair in the Market Place. Everyone is welcome to join in the parade on Monday 25th May, with a vehicle float or walking float - or just line the streets to watch the parade go by from Nuns Close to the Market Place.

The end of May also brings the varied magnificence of the Swaledale Festival, with many events taking place in Richmond and across the Dales.

The Castle Players present Stewart Howson’s award-winning comedy that explores the lives of farming folk in the northeast during the late 1930s and early years of World War II.

The action is narrated by a unique central character – a 1932 Fordson N-Type Tractor – and is by turns, thought-provoking, heart-warming, and hysterically funny!

Inspired by interviews with farmers from across North Yorkshire and County Durham, the play forms part of a cycle of plays entitled, ‘Country Voices’ and won the London Weekend Television ‘Best Plays on Stage’ Competition.

Tickets cost £14 and are available from Box Office on 01748 825252 or online at www.georgiantheatreroyal.co.uk
